Lake Tahoe Live Cameras & Webcams

Watch the Highway 50 webcam at Echo Summit or the I-80 webcam at Donner Summit below, then compare nearby cameras along your route. For a South Lake Tahoe drive, the Highway 50 camera directory also covers Meyers, Twin Bridges and town intersections. For scenery, choose the Lake Tahoe lakefront webcams.

Camera source pages and route links reviewed October 10, 2026 (UTC). Stream uptime is not continuously monitored. Check the camera timestamp and official road reports before driving.

Compare this mountain view with Meyers and Twin Bridges cameras on the Highway 50 page.

Interstate 80 at Donner Summit: Caltrans East-Facing View

This is an I-80 camera, not a town webcam on Donner Pass Road. Use the Donner Pass guide for additional interstate camera locations.

Open the Highway 50 camera directory.

I-80, Donner Summit and Truckee

Find official interstate cameras separately from local Truckee webcams. Select the road and location you actually plan to use.

South Lake Tahoe

Use local intersections and South Shore views for the destination end of your drive. A clear town street does not establish conditions on the pass.

Open South Lake Tahoe cameras.

North Lake Tahoe

Choose North Shore views around Kings Beach and the Highway 28 and Highway 89 corridors.

Open North Lake Tahoe cameras.

Tahoe Ski Resorts

Compare mountain views, then confirm lift and terrain operations with the resort. Snow visible in a camera is not an operating report.

Open ski-resort camera sources.

Road Closures, Chain Controls and Weather

Use Caltrans Highway Conditions for the California highway-number report and QuickMap for map-based checks. Read the location limits of each restriction. For a route continuing into Nevada, check Nevada 511 as well.

Our Lake Tahoe conditions directory brings road, forecast and air-quality sources together. Check forecasts through National Weather Service Reno; do not judge air quality or the forecast from a camera picture.

Lake Tahoe Camera Questions

Why is a camera black, frozen or buffering?

Open the official player linked beneath the camera and compare another location. A feed can be interrupted by equipment, connection or operator changes. A loaded page or visible picture does not prove that the image is fresh. Check the displayed time where available.

Are these live cameras or saved photographs?

The summit players show Caltrans video feeds. The lakefront section links to camera providers, and our route pages include more highway, lakefront and resort views. Streams can pause, so check the camera timestamp where available.

Which Highway 50 webcam should I use for South Lake Tahoe?

Start with the Echo Summit camera for the pass, then compare Meyers and the Highway 50 town intersections closest to your destination. The full Highway 50 webcam guide keeps these locations together with the official road-report links.

Is a Truckee webcam the same as a Donner Summit camera?

No. The Donner Summit player here uses the I-80 camera identified by Caltrans. Local Truckee views are separately labeled in the Donner Pass guide.

Can the picture tell me whether chains are required?

No. Follow official notices and posted controls for your vehicle and route. One clear-looking section does not cancel a restriction elsewhere. Check again near departure, and do not browse camera pages while driving.

Plan Beyond the Drive

Choosing a mountain? Compare our Lake Tahoe ski-resort guide, or browse winter activities without skiing. Planning months ahead? Use weather by month, not today’s camera image.

For an arriving flight, compare airports and ground transportation. To reduce daily driving, see Lake Tahoe without a car, then build a manageable route with our one- to seven-day itineraries.
