Highway 50 Live Cameras: Echo Summit, Meyers and Tahoe Roads

Camera directory and links reviewed September 7, 2026. Individual streams may be delayed or unavailable.

Use these Highway 50 live cameras to compare traffic, snow and visibility around Echo Summit, Meyers, Twin Bridges and South Lake Tahoe. Jump to an embedded view below, or open the camera directly on the Caltrans website. A camera picture is not an official road-closure or chain-control report.

Watch Echo Summit here Check the Highway 50 road report

Highway 50 at Echo Summit (Eastbound)

Open the Echo Summit camera directly on Caltrans.

Before you drive: Confirm the full route with Caltrans QuickMap and Caltrans Highway Conditions. Enter 50 in the highway report. Read each notice’s location limits and check again before leaving.

Checking another route? Compare the I-80 and Donner Summit cameras, or use the Lake Tahoe conditions directory for official weather, road and air-quality tools.

Highway 50 Cameras in South Lake Tahoe

Choose the intersection closest to your destination. These town views do not establish conditions at Echo Summit or farther west. When an embedded player does not work, use the linked agency page or map instead.

Highway 50 at Ski Run Boulevard (Eastbound)

Open the Ski Run camera directly on Caltrans.

Highway 50 at Pioneer Trail (Eastbound)

Open the Pioneer Trail camera directly on Caltrans. This opens the official player for Highway 50 at Pioneer Trail.

Highway 50 at the Highway 89 Junction

Open the Highway 50 and Highway 89 junction camera on Caltrans.

Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Tahoe Keys Boulevard

This is a third-party local stream, not a Caltrans-operated player. If it is unavailable, choose a nearby official highway camera in Caltrans QuickMap; the nearby view will not be the same camera angle.

Meyers, Sierra at Tahoe and Twin Bridges Cameras

Compare several mountain locations rather than using one clear-looking image as an all-clear for the drive. The camera’s view direction does not establish the travel restrictions in either direction.

Highway 50 at Meyers (Westbound)

Open the Meyers camera directly on Caltrans.

Sierra at Tahoe Road (Eastbound)

Open Caltrans’s Highway 50 at Sierra eastbound camera. This is a highway view, not a ski-resort lift or terrain report.

Twin Bridges on Highway 50 (Westbound)

Open the Twin Bridges camera directly on Caltrans.

Twin Bridges video unavailable? Try the Sierra at Tahoe Road camera and Echo Summit camera on this page. They show different locations along Highway 50, not the Twin Bridges view. Check the official road report for route restrictions.

Official Highway 50 Road and Chain-Control Information

Caltrans QuickMap provides map-based traffic and travel information. Caltrans Highway Conditions provides the highway-number report and lists 1-800-427-7623 for current highway information.

For the direct camera locations used here, consult the Caltrans official camera directory. If you continue onto Nevada roads, check Nevada 511 as well. Follow the latest agency instructions and posted restrictions.

When to Check the Cameras

Check near departure, during changing weather, and before the return journey. Compare the mountain section as well as your destination in town. Do not rely on a screenshot saved earlier in the day, and do not use a camera page while driving.

Highway 50 Camera FAQs and Troubleshooting

Why is a camera black, frozen or not loading?

Try the direct Caltrans link under that camera. The agency’s player may require JavaScript and a compatible browser. If the operator’s page also fails, use another camera and the official road report. A loading player or an unchanged image is not proof that conditions are current.

Are all of these cameras working right now?

This directory does not certify continuous uptime. Embedded streams and agency players may be unavailable or delayed. Check any displayed timestamp, compare more than one location and confirm restrictions separately.

Which cameras show Echo Summit and Meyers?

Use the Echo Summit section and Meyers section above. Each includes the existing embedded view and a direct link to the corresponding Caltrans camera page.

Can a camera tell me whether chains are required?

No. Use the latest Caltrans route report and posted requirements. A clear patch of pavement in one view does not cancel a restriction elsewhere on the route.

Can I retrieve yesterday’s Caltrans camera footage here?

No. Caltrans states that its traffic-camera footage and still images are not retained or archived. This page is a viewing directory, not a recording archive.

Can I compare Highway 50 with Interstate 80?

Yes. Open the Donner Pass and I-80 camera guide, then read the official reports for both routes. A camera comparison alone is not a safe-detour recommendation.
