Tahoe Dave’s: North Shore and Truckee flexibility

  • Posted daily rates: Tahoe Dave’s publishes basic, performance and demo packages for skis and snowboards. Its posted one-day rates are $54 for a basic package, $65 for performance and $79 for demo. Children’s beginner packages vary by age: the published one-day price is $32.40 for ages 0-6 and $37.80 for ages 7-10. Helmets appear separately at $12 per day on the rate sheet. Current rate sheet.
  • Fitting, ID & deposit: An online reservation does not hold a particular brand, model or size. Equipment is fitted when you arrive, and every renter must attend pickup. The September 2026 reservation terms require a nonrefundable deposit applied to the rental total, a photo ID and a physical credit card at pickup. A phone wallet does not replace the card needed for the security authorization. Reservation terms.
  • Pickup & rest days: Evening-before pickup is offered, but the official pages disagree about the start time: the rate sheet says after 3 p.m.; the FAQ says 4 p.m. Confirm with your selected branch. Also ask about your exact return deadline. The FAQ says you pay while you retain the equipment, including days you don’t ski, so don’t assume a midweek rest day is free. Rental FAQ.

Palisades Tahoe: rentals at the mountain

  • Equipment: Palisades is a useful comparison if you want to collect equipment where you ski rather than add a town stop. Its full ski package includes skis, boots and poles; the snowboard package includes a board and boots. Equipment-only choices are also available. Helmets are not included and must be added at checkout.
  • Price & storage: The resort uses demand-based rental pricing, so a fixed daily number would be misleading without dates. Multi-day rentals include overnight ski and board storage. That can be valuable when you’d otherwise carry equipment between your lodging and the base each day. Palisades rental packages and inclusions.
  • Delivery & lesson base: Palisades also links to Ski Butlers for delivery to accommodations. Compare delivery with collecting at the mountain, and confirm the correct rental location for your lesson or starting base before you book. Don’t assume an Alpine pickup and an Olympic Valley lesson are interchangeable.

South Lake Tahoe

Powder House has shops around Heavenly Village; Heavenly offers its own rental service. Check the business and branch named on your confirmation. Powder House locations · Heavenly rentals.

Powder House: South Lake Tahoe shop rentals

  • Ski packages: Powder House’s published ski rates list a one-day performance package at $51, high performance at $58, demo at $67 and a child package at $37. Ski packages include skis, boots and poles. Ski rental rates.
  • Snowboard packages & fees: For snowboard rentals, the posted one-day performance package is $51, demo is $62 and the child package is $37. Those packages include a board, boots and bindings. Both rate pages exclude insurance and a charge labeled “R.E.F.” from the displayed prices; check what applies to your booking rather than treating the headline price as your total. Snowboard rental rates.
  • Extras & multi-day terms: Helmets, jackets and pants cost extra. Walk-ins are accepted, and online reservations are available. The shop advertises a free fourth consecutive rental day, which is worth checking against the actual multi-day quote. Its FAQ says early returns or extensions are settled when equipment is returned. Equipment FAQ, reservation FAQ.
  • Pickup-time discrepancy: Confirm evening pickup directly with your branch. Powder House’s pages disagree about whether free previous-day pickup begins at 2 p.m. or 3 p.m., and advertised online discounts also vary. Use the dated reservation total, not an old coupon or the largest percentage on the website.

Heavenly: pickup, delivery and adult demo selection

  • Equipment & children: Heavenly’s 2026-27 rental information offers standard and demo choices, including an adult-only Pick Your Own Demo option at participating locations. Children’s pricing covers ages 12 and under, including children who need adult equipment sizes. Helmets can be added rather than assumed included.
  • Pickup & delivery: Same-day shop service is available. Previous-day pickup starts after 3 p.m. without an extra day’s charge. Delivery is available at select locations and must be reserved at least 48 hours ahead; confirm your lodging is eligible before depending on it.
  • Rest days & early returns: For a multi-day trip, ask about a planned rest day at pickup. Heavenly says staff can coordinate it to avoid extra charges. Its early-return policy refunds unused full days, but a return after 9 a.m. is charged for that day. These details make the return time part of the price comparison. Heavenly’s current rental FAQ.

Ski-bike rentals: check the mountain first

A ski bike is different from a regular bicycle and the ski or snowboard packages above. Lake Tahoe Tours & Rentals advertises ski-bike rentals, lessons and delivery in the South Lake Tahoe area. Ask for an itemized quote covering the bike, helmet, instruction, lift ticket and transport. Confirm what is included, the model and your date before paying.

A shop’s delivery list is not the resort’s permission. Heavenly’s published device rules allow qualifying factory-built ski bikes with no more than two metal-edged skis, a seat and one rider. They must fit within the chair and load without slowing or stopping the lift; some lifts or areas may be restricted. Check the full policy and confirm your equipment with resort staff. Do not assume these rules apply at every Tahoe mountain.

Your lesson, pickup and return checklist

Use the same dates and equipment level for each quote. A basic package and a demo package serve different needs, and “board only” may not include the boots or bindings you need.

  • Check equipment, boots and helmet inclusion for every person, especially children.
  • Ask whether the quoted number includes taxes, required fees and optional damage protection.
  • Confirm pickup hours, everyone’s fitting attendance, required ID/card, normal return deadline and cancellation terms. Heavenly’s 9 a.m. cutoff concerns early-return billing, not a universal normal-return deadline.
  • Check your lesson package before reserving equipment separately. Keep lift access and parking separate unless explicitly included.
