Lake Tahoe Ski Rentals: Heavenly & North Shore Shops

For Lake Tahoe ski rentals at Heavenly or on the North Shore, choose the pickup location before comparing packages. The most convenient shop is usually the one that fits your lodging, lesson meeting point and first ski day. A cheaper rental across the lake may add driving and make exchanges harder.

Heavenly: match the shop to your starting base

Heavenly’s rental directory lists California Main Lodge, Marriott across from the Gondola, Boulder Lodge and Stagecoach Lodge locations, plus shops at Cecil’s Fountain Plaza. These are different pickup points. Read the exact address on your confirmation rather than relying on “Heavenly” in the shop name.

If you have a lesson, verify its meeting location before reserving equipment. Ask whether fitting is handled with the lesson package or separately and how early you should arrive. For independent rentals, confirm the return location and whether an exchange can be handled near the terrain you plan to use.

Northstar: village pickup choices

Northstar’s official directory identifies Village Rental on the lower level of the main village and Performance Demo by the ice rink. It also lists Burton by the rink and a Ritz-Carlton location restricted to hotel guests. Confirm that your selected shop serves your booking and equipment type.

A village shop can be practical when your lodging or ski day starts there. Allow time to get from the car or shuttle stop to the fitting counter, then to your lesson or lift. A pickup time is not the same as being ready on snow.

Palisades and Alpine: use the correct base area

The Palisades Tahoe pre-arrival guide places the Palisades Rental Shop on the south side of its village, between the ticket office and Parallel Mountain Sports. The Alpine Rental Shop is on the lower level of Alpine Lodge, with entry from the east side. Book the base that matches your plans rather than assuming the two pickup locations are interchangeable.

Compare the complete rental package

  • Equipment: check whether boots, poles and a helmet are included, and whether the package suits your ability.
  • Timing: ask about advance pickup, fitting time, return deadlines and late charges.
  • Changes: check exchange locations, upgrade costs and cancellation rules for your exact reservation.
  • Clothing: confirm separately; ski equipment packages do not necessarily include jackets, pants or gloves.

Use our rental prices and clothing guide for those broader comparisons. Let the rental technician fit boots and adjust bindings; provide accurate height, weight, age and skiing information requested for the setup.

Make pickup part of the transport plan

Save the shop address and confirmation offline, and check current opening hours for your dates. Resort directory entries do not mean a shop is open during the autumn shoulder season. Compare the ski bus and shuttle guide if you want to avoid moving a car between pickup and the mountain. Keep enough time for a careful fit instead of rushing into the first available boots.
