Travel information checked October 25, 2026. Confirm dates, availability and final prices with the operator.
The right Reno airport shuttle depends on your Tahoe destination. South Tahoe Airporter serves the South Shore; North Lake Tahoe Express serves North Tahoe and Truckee. Compare the stop and travel date before comparing prices. A low fare is not useful if the bus leaves you on the wrong side of the lake.
Choose your shore first
- South Lake Tahoe and Heavenly: start with South Tahoe Airporter and plan the final connection to your hotel or ski base.
- Truckee and North Lake Tahoe: choose the Express route serving your actual lodging area.
- Tahoe City and Palisades: check the Express Red Route and the specific resort or town stop.
Shuttle cost: published fares checked October 25, 2026
South Tahoe Airporter lists adult tickets at $32.75 one way or $59.50 round trip. Its listed child fares are $19.75 one way and $35.58 round trip; confirm eligibility when booking.
The North Lake Tahoe Express October timetable lists $85 per person for parties of one to three, or $65 per person for four or more. The group must share a date, shuttle time and reservation. Confirm the final total and direction in the booking flow.
For comparison, two adult South Shore round trips at the listed rate total $119. Four people at the Express group rate total $260 for that booked journey. Those are ticket calculations, not complete vacation budgets. Add the cost of the final ride to your accommodation and price the return separately where required.
Where to find the schedule
Use the Airporter date selector for South Shore departures and the Express schedule and reservation links for the north. The Express requires advance reservations; the airport advises booking at least 24 hours ahead. A printed departure time does not confirm a seat.
Book around when you can reach the loading area after landing, collecting bags and handling any ski equipment. For the return, work backward from your airline’s airport-arrival guidance, then allow for the shuttle journey and weather. Avoid making the last available transfer your only workable option.
Airport pickup and arrival planning
Reno airport identifies the ground transportation loop outside baggage claim Door D as the commercial pickup area. Follow your operator’s confirmation for the exact loading point.
Save your booking, stop name and operator contact information offline. If your flight changes, contact the operator before assuming the next vehicle has room. For a late arrival or a lodging address outside the scheduled routes, compare a private car transfer.
Once you reach the lake, use our car-free Tahoe guide for local buses and on-demand services, and check road and weather conditions before travel.
